About the Show
William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, King leontes of Sicily’s unfounded jealousy leads him to imprison his wife Hermonione, banish their newboen daughter Perdita, and cause the death of their son, Maxillius. Sixteen years later, Perdita has been raised by a shepherd and has fallen in love with Prince Florizel, Polixenes’s son. Her true identity is revealed, and through a miraculously animated statue, Hermione returns to life, leading to the joyous reconciliation of the royal families and Leontes’s repentance.
