I loved the simplicity of the blocking, costuming, and props — just enough to benefit the story without detracting from the performances and language of the script. And the dance was hilarious.
What I didn't like
I had a little difficulty hearing some of the dialogue at one point over the scene that had some music, but that might have just been me, and I could certainly still understand what was happening well enough. Beautifully done.
My overall impression
What a wonderful production! I was so impressed by what the cast and crew (under the direction of Colleen Hammond Whitmore) accomplished with just three days of rehearsal. The play (one of my favorites) was streamlined into a 60 minute production while still keeping the story and humor beautifully intact. I’m delighted to learn about this group operating in our city. It’s a wonderful opportunity for actors to perform Shakespeare and our community to get to see and appreciate it. Highly recommend any productions by Colleen and this group — go see the all-woman production of “Julius Caesar in 60 minutes” also!
