This hilarious and heartbreaking re-creation of Andy Warhol’s wild Factory filmmaking years spotlights his debauched “Superstars” at the birth of Andy’s depraved “Flesh for Frankenstein 3D” movie. But is the real monster Andy himself?

In New York’s drug-fueled 60’s, after recruiting Edie Sedgwick, Lou Reed and Valerie Solanas for screen tests, Pop Art innovator Andy Warhol decides to abandon his signature soup can paintings and dedicate himself to making edgy art films. In 1973 he produces “Flesh for Frankenstein” in 3D, a shocking and sexy retelling of the classic horror tale.

Experience this hilarious gross-out populated by Warhol’s beautiful Superstars, and all the bloody disgusting body parts and dismemberments crammed into the making of his kitchy classic.

WARNINGS: Nudity, graphic gruesome violence, loud gunshots,  flashing lights, and drug use. Did we miss anything?

Due to its immature nature, ADULTS ONLY will be admitted. 

PLEASE READ before attending:

SPLATTER ZONE: It’s “4D!” and Grand Guignol, so it’s pretty squirty with all that fake bloodshed. So, while not trying to deliberately get any on you, and not being “immersive” per se, to avoid immersing you in bodily fluids, the front row of the theater is designated a “Splatter Zone.” If you chose to sit there, a rain poncho is suggested and available on loan at no extra charge. 

PHONE CHECK: Since photography or recording of any kind is strictly prohibited during the performance, phones are not permitted within the theater proper. Your name will be on the will-call ticket list for admission, so please leave your phone in the car, or it can be securely checked at the box office with a claim ticket issued. That said, photos with the cast in costume directly after the show in the lobby are encouraged. Your claim ticket also enters you in a raffle for an original “Brigid Berlin” art print created during the show to be awarded at the conclusion. 

ACCESSIBILITY: The front row of the theater has space for a wheelchair, with level access from the lobby entrance to the front row via a side aisle. The remaining rows of seats are tiered. 

PARKING & PRE-SHOW FUN: The Hobgoblin Playhouse is located just north of Sunset Blvd, with ample street parking on Sunset, Gardner and surrounding residential streets, and is within stumbling distance to several of Hollywood most popular restaurants and bars.
