Matt Chait is a graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse and has performed all over this country in major roles, including the Eugene O’Neil Foundation, the American Place Theatre, the Manhattan Theater Club, the National Playwright’s Conference, the Theatre Company of Boston, Cafe LaMama, and many others. He owned and operated The Complex, a group of five theaters and five rehearsal studios just next door to this theater. He taught acting for many years at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, at UCLA and in his private classes. He has won a ‘Charlie’ award for his contributions to Theater Arts in Hollywood and the last two plays he has written, “Bearings” and ‘A Family Business’ have both won ‘Scenie’ awards for Best World Premiers, for 2023 and 2024.
