As playwright and actress, Rejyna Douglass-Whitman’s solo play, ‘Trans Mom vs Family Court: Justice Sees No Gender,’ earned two wins at the 2025 Hollywood Fringe Festival, including the Transcendent Craft Award and the Daredevil Award. The play chronicles her groundbreaking 1995 story of self-representation in a child custody case while simultaneously beginning gender transition, being evicted and fired for being trans, setting a precedent for transgender parental rights.


A true polymath, her diverse career also includes VFX supervision for the digital restoration of iconic films like Star Wars and James Bond, as well as managing localization operations for major studios including Disney, Netflix, and Universal. A prolific multi-instrumentalist musician with over 100 original compositions, board member of the International Live Looping Festival, she creates rock, metal, and abstract music from her Burbank studio.

Driven by a passion to connect diverse disciplines and inspire understanding, she is currently developing her acclaimed solo performance into book and film formats.
