Dan Ruth is a theatre director and producer, as well as an award-winning actor and solo performer. His critically acclaimed solo play, “A Life Behind Bars,” has been performed throughout the U.S. since its inception in 2015 at Dixon Place in New York City, where he lived for nearly 30 years. Having now relocated to Los Angeles, Dan continues to write, perform, and shine a light on LA’s vibrant and incredibly talented stage community as creator of the theater review and arts platform lahiddengems.com (Los Angeles Hidden Gems). Launched in 2024, his website and subsequent theatre company, LAstageNY, serves as a dedicated space to elevate, lift up, and direct audiences to LA’s creative artists, while championing theatrical connections between New York City and Los Angeles.
