Gilad Nilo

Gilad Nilo is a Meisner trained actor who specializes in dramatic theatrical work and improv comedy. Long before he ever stepped into an audition room he learned to hold his ground, and hold his breath, under pressure with years spent as an international water polo competitor. Those tempered instincts, staying unshackled yet unflinching, are just a portion of the flair he brings to scenes.
With his two-year program at Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio and an On-Camera Technique course with David Rountree, Gilad moves comfortably between stage and screen, drama and comedy. His theater work spans the emotionally frayed (Louis in Fiery Furnace) to the classical (Antonio and Theseus in Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Midsummer Night’s Dream, respectively) to the flatly absurd (Hank in Breaking Bard, Stefan in Alps Adieu). Sketch and improv chops were sharpened at both UCB and Groundlings, keeping his instincts quick-witted and his blocking trusted. On screen, he’s brought supporting roles to life in Cracked and For the Love of God.
A film and media degree from Johns Hopkins, followed by an MFA pursued at the Burren College of Art in Ireland, gave Gilad a filmmaker’s eye for an actor’s intuition. He tends to reflect on the shot of a scene just as much as on the story and performance.
Born and raised in California, Gilad still trains like an athlete and has broken weightlifting records at his local gym.
